3. How to create a portlet

  1. If you have put a link to the quicklinks creator deployment on your dashboard then open it up, else follow the following steps
  2. Go to Customisation > Scripts > Script Deployments
  3. Filter for the script “[Reed] QuickLinks Creator SL”
  4. Open the script deployment
  5. Open the URL
  6. Either click edit existing portlet or create new portlet:

To change the number of columns edit the column field:

To go back to selecting a portlet, click on the Pick Different Portlet option.

To save your quicklinks portlet, click Save QuickLinks.

To add a new button or header, click Add Button Or Header:
 

Choose if it is a header or a button:

If it is a header then edit the title.

If it is a button, enter the link and the title and choose a colour either by hex code or by preset colour:

Click “Add” to add the button.

To change the position of a button or header in a column or between columns just drag and drop the button or header.

If you are creating a new portlet instead of editing an existing portlet then:
 

 

 

It will assign you a portlet number. This portlet number will be used by custom records in the background. Your admin needs to go and create a script deployment for the suitelet and portlet scripts matching this number for it to go on your dashboard. Record the number before proceeding.
